The 2023 Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend will feature plenty of country music, as three out of the four performances will come from country singers. Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band are all scheduled to perform throughout the weekend at Iowa Speedway. Ed Sheeran will also take the stage.

Man sentenced for Davenport funeral-home shooting
A 27-year-old Davenport man, convicted of a fatal shooting at a funeral home in 2020, has been sentenced to prison, court records show.
Documents filed Thursday in Scott County Court say Neumonei Laster appeared in court with his attorney for sentencing.
Laster pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, and was sentenced to serve no more than 10 years on this charge. He also pleaded guilty to intimidation with a dangerous weapon, and was sentenced to a period not to exceed 10 years for this charge.
Schram enjoys victory at East Moline Speedway
Dustin Schram drove turns three and four of East Moline Speedway a little differently Sunday evening.
Working the steering wheel, he used the upper racing grooves and sped to the 25-lap Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Late Model season championship feature win.
